Globally, 68% of all strokes are ischemic, which significantly contributes to death and disability.

  • Ischemic stroke is associated with early pro-inflammatory activity leading to secondary brain damage.
  • Resveratrol, a natural compound found in grapes and berries, may provide neuroprotective effects in ischemic stroke.
  • Activation of the SIRT1 pathway by resveratrol is linked to improved cellular survival and reduced apoptosis.
  • Resveratrol enhances the NRF2 pathway, increasing antioxidant enzyme expression to combat oxidative stress.
  • Preclinical studies indicate that resveratrol improves functional outcomes and preserves neuronal integrity in ischemic stroke.
