Designing functional protein binders in a single step using BindCraft

Updated

Abstract

Experimental success rates for the automated protein binder design pipeline BindCraft range from 10-100%.

  • BindCraft generates protein binders with nanomolar affinity without the need for high-throughput screening.
  • The system can design binders even when known binding sites are not available.
  • Successful designs have targeted a variety of proteins, including cell-surface receptors and allergens.
  • Designed binders have shown the ability to reduce IgE binding to allergens in patient samples.
  • The pipeline has been applied to modulate gene editing activity and decrease cytotoxicity from foodborne toxins.
  • Certain binders can redirect virus capsids for more precise gene delivery.
