  • Activation of these receptors leads to microtubule destabilization and increased insulin secretion, while inhibition reduces this effect.
  • Islets with a higher α-cell-to-β-cell ratio demonstrate a greater capacity for dynamic microtubule behavior and insulin release.
  • In mice on a high-fat diet, the benefits of a higher α-cell-to-β-cell ratio on microtubule dynamics and insulin secretion are diminished.
