Abstract
Peri-operative glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor agonist (GLP-1 RA) use is associated with delayed gastric emptying.
- The proportion of patients receiving GLP-1 RAs during anaesthetic care is not well defined.
- Strategies for managing patients on GLP-1 RAs in the peri-operative setting are unclear.
- The incidence of pulmonary aspiration may be greater among patients using GLP-1 RAs.
- Regurgitation rates in patients receiving GLP-1 RAs during surgery are also uncertain.
