Combined effects of light therapy and stem cell signals on growth and movement of gum tissue cells in the lab

Updated

Abstract

PBM therapy at 6 J/cm² resulted in the highest proliferation (130.20 ± 6.82) and migration (144.27 ± 4.3) rates of human gingival fibroblast cells.

  • Significant differences in proliferation and migration were found among the experimental groups (P < 0.001).
  • PBM therapy significantly enhanced both proliferation and migration of human gingival fibroblast cells.
  • Exosome treatment promoted fibroblast activity, but effects were less pronounced compared to PBM therapy.
  • The combination of PBM and exosomes did not show a synergistic effect, with fibroblast activity lower than that with PBM alone.
  • Further optimization of treatment protocols is necessary to explore different exosome concentrations and laser parameters.
