Light treatment improves survival and exosome quality of human fat-derived stem cells for regenerative medicine

Updated

Abstract

PBM at 650 nm and 810 nm wavelengths significantly enhanced ADSCs viability and proliferation (p = 0.008 and p = 0.007, respectively).

  • Human adipose-derived stem cells (ADSCs) were treated with light emissions at two specific wavelengths.
  • Both wavelengths significantly improved the viability and growth of ADSCs in vitro.
  • Exosomes from PBM-treated ADSCs showed a higher protein concentration compared to untreated groups.
  • The average size of exosomes from treated cells was approximately 86 nm.
  • These results indicate that PBM may enhance the quality of exosomes, reflecting improved cellular functions.
  • Further studies are needed to investigate the underlying molecular mechanisms and potential clinical applications.
