Essence

Moderate-to-high physical activity was associated with better fitness, heart rate recovery, sleep, and quality-of-life measures in long COVID patients.

Evidence

Cross-sectional study of 219 long COVID patients at a northern Taiwan outpatient clinic compared moderate-to-high versus low physical activity using questionnaires and cycle ergometer testing.

Caveat

Because activity and outcomes were measured cross-sectionally and activity was questionnaire-assessed, the study cannot show that physical activity caused the better outcomes.
