Physical Activity and Morning Preference Together Improve Sleep Quality in Active Italian University Students

Updated

Abstract

In a sample of 433 university students, M-type individuals showed the greatest improvement in sleep quality with increased physical activity.

  • E-type students experienced significantly worse sleep quality compared to M-types and N-types.
  • No significant differences in sleep quality were found based on physical activity levels among E-types.
  • Physical activity independently influenced sleep quality primarily for M-types.
  • Moderation analysis indicated that M-types benefited more from physical activity in terms of sleep improvement than E-types.
