Short- and Long-Term Rates of Ongoing Symptoms After COVID-19 Infection

Abstract

More than 54% of COVID-19 survivors experienced at least one persistent postacute sequelae of COVID-19 (PASC) six months after recovery.

  • The incidence of PASC at one month is 54.0%, at two to five months is 55.0%, and at six months or more is 54.0%.
  • Pulmonary abnormalities, such as chest imaging abnormalities, were reported in 62.2% of survivors.
  • Neurologic disorders included difficulty concentrating, affecting 23.8% of survivors.
  • Mental health disorders, such as generalized anxiety disorder, were observed in 29.6% of the population.
  • Functional mobility impairments impacted 44.0% of survivors, while fatigue or muscle weakness affected 37.5%.
