Essence

Post-COVID was associated with and frequent easy bruising, much like POTS not linked to COVID-19.

Evidence

A prospective case-control study of 252 people across four cohorts used bleeding questionnaires, platelet electron microscopy, and viral titers to compare post-COVID POTS, non-COVID POTS, and healthy controls.

Caveat

This was an association study, and the abstract reports no significant difference between the two POTS groups, so it does not show that COVID-19 caused the platelet defect.
