The study aims to develop a composite lyoprotectant to enhance the stability of the RPA-CRISPR-Cas12a system for respiratory pathogen detection.

  • Acute respiratory infections caused by bacterial and viral pathogens represent a significant global health challenge.
  • Current point-of-care testing using the RPA-CRISPR-Cas12a system is limited by the instability of its lyophilized reagents.
  • Improving the stability of these reagents could facilitate the field deployment of rapid diagnostic tests for respiratory pathogens.
