Tirzepatide may cause a hormone imbalance that leads to seizures

Tirzepatide was reported as a possible trigger of SIADH-related severe hyponatremia with seizures shortly after weight-loss initiation.

This single case report describes a 63-year-old woman who developed tonic-clonic seizures 4 days after starting tirzepatide, with serum sodium 122 mmol/L and labs consistent with SIADH.

Causality is uncertain because this is one case report, although the authors identified no other cause and symptoms resolved after tirzepatide discontinuation and fluid restriction.
