Self-Forming Virus-Like Particles for Delivering mRNA Outside the Liver

Updated

Abstract

Essence

A self-assembling virus-mimicking particle delivered mRNA to extrahepatic tissues and suppressed metastatic lung tumor progression in models.

Evidence

This preclinical nanoplatform study engineered EVMPs, measured lung and spleen mRNA delivery up to 37% of total lung cells, and tested IL-12 mRNA in a metastatic lung tumor model.

Caveat

The abstract reports preclinical platform performance, so tissue targeting, safety, and antitumor effects remain untested in humans.
