Real-world success and one-year continued use of a digital weight-loss program with semaglutide in Germany

Updated

Abstract

The mean 12-month weight loss among a 4535 patient cohort was 9.47%, with a lower estimate of 2.40% accounting for dropouts.

  • Among the 12% of patients who adhered to both medication and data submission, the average weight loss was 15.13%.
  • Achieving a healthy BMI milestone and experiencing a weight-loss plateau were associated with improved program persistence.
  • Patients with high clinical complexity (three or more comorbidities) had more than double the risk of attrition.
  • Previous use of GLP-1 receptor agonists was linked to a significantly increased risk of churn.
  • Moderate early engagement in the program was a strong predictor of persistence, while intensive tracking did not significantly lower churn risk.
