Semaglutide as a useful treatment for irregular periods and lack of ovulation in women with polyendocrine metabolic ovarian syndrome

Mean body weight decreased significantly by 11.3% after six months of treatment with semaglutide.

  • Before treatment, 83% of women with PMOS experienced irregular menstrual cycles due to anovulation.
  • After treatment, 52.5% of women who were initially anovulatory achieved ovulatory cycles.
  • Nearly 95% of overweight PMOS patients normalized their menstrual cycles and achieved ovulation.
  • 25% of PMOS patients with moderate or severe obesity also experienced normalization of their menstrual cycles.
