Essence

DeepScence is a neural-network method for detecting senescent cells in single-cell and spatial transcriptomics data.

Evidence

This computational method study built DeepScence from the curated CoreScence gene set and validated it on in vitro, in vivo, and multiple-platform spatial transcriptomics datasets, where it outperformed existing methods.

Caveat

The abstract reports transcriptomic benchmark performance, not direct experimental confirmation that every predicted cell is senescent across all tissues or conditions.
