Abstract
Euthymic patients with bipolar disorder displayed significantly poorer sleep quality and memory function compared to healthy controls.
- Twenty-two psychotropic drug-free euthymic patients with bipolar disorder were assessed alongside 44 matched healthy controls.
- The quality of sleep was measured using the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index.
- Memory function was evaluated with the Wechsler Memory Scale-Revised.
- Significant correlations were found between years of education, hypnotic use, and visual memory index scores.
- Management of sleep complaints may be crucial for improving outcomes in euthymic bipolar disorder patients.
