Stellate ganglion block may help manage long COVID symptoms.
Updated
Abstract
Fifty-two patients with post-acute sequelae of SARS-CoV-2 reported symptom improvements after stellate ganglion block treatment.
- Patients received an average of three stellate ganglion block injections.
- Most patients experienced improvements in symptoms like brain fog, fatigue, dizziness, and headache.
- About a quarter of patients reported at least one short-lived adverse effect.
- The duration of symptom improvement varied significantly among patients.
- Further randomized clinical trials may be needed to confirm the effectiveness of stellate ganglion blocks for PASC.
