Particle size of the optimized HuGLP-1 nanoliposomes is 179.2 ± 1.65 nm.

  • HuGLP-1 is hindered in oral delivery due to its hydrophilic nature and unfavorable gut environment.
  • Sublingual administration may enhance the absorption of HuGLP-1 by avoiding first-pass metabolism.
  • The entrapment efficiency of the optimized HuGLP-1 nanoliposomes is 47 ± 2.18%.
  • Post sublingual delivery in T2DM induced rats resulted in significantly less reversal of hypoglycemia compared to standard hydrogel (p < 0.001).
  • The formulation could potentially improve patient compliance in T2DM management.
