Tirzepatide's effects on heart and metabolism health in obese adults without diabetes

Updated

Abstract

Tirzepatide is associated with a significant weight loss of 18.42% compared to placebo in adults with obesity or overweight without diabetes.

  • Weight loss was consistently observed across four clinical trials included in the analysis.
  • A significant reduction in waist circumference of -15.20 cm was reported.
  • Improvements in blood pressure and lipid profiles were noted, although with less precise effect sizes.
  • Evidence on the effects of tirzepatide on hard cardiovascular outcomes in this population remains insufficient.
