Abstract

The combination of low-dose tirzepatide and metformin led to a greater reduction in body weight of -10.4 ± 3.5 kg compared to metformin alone, which had a reduction of -1.7 ± 2.5 kg (p < 0.001).

  • The combination treatment resulted in a significant decrease in body mass index (BMI) of -4.12 ± 1.37 kg/m compared to -0.68 ± 1.82 in the metformin group (p < 0.001).
  • Visceral adipose tissue (VAT) reduction was substantially greater in the combination group (-34.13 ± 15.33 cm) compared to the metformin group (-4.67 ± 9.59 cm, p < 0.001).
  • Improvements in reproductive endocrine-metabolic parameters were observed in the combination group.
  • Menstrual cycle recovery rates were higher in the combination group (p = 0.013).
