Tirzepatide linked to heart structure improvement and better heart relaxation in obesity-related heart failure with preserved pumping

Updated

Abstract

Real-world echocardiographic evidence of cardiac reverse remodeling in obesity-related heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF) remains limited.

  • Obesity-related HFpEF is marked by changes in heart structure and function, including concentric remodeling and diastolic dysfunction.
  • Tirzepatide is associated with significant weight loss in patients.
  • The connection between tirzepatide-induced weight loss and cardiac reverse remodeling in HFpEF is not well established in prospective studies.
