Abstract
An overall weight loss of 11 kg was observed following the adjustment of tirzepatide dosage in a patient with obesity and type 2 diabetes.
- Tirzepatide therapy was initiated at a dose of 5 mg weekly alongside levosulpiride.
- Only modest weight loss occurred during the initial phase of treatment, followed by a weight plateau.
- After discontinuing levosulpiride and increasing tirzepatide to 7.5 and 10 mg weekly, significant weight reduction was noted.
- Glycemic control improved substantially, with glycated hemoglobin (HbA1c) levels reaching 5.0%.
- No episodes of pancreatitis were reported, despite an asymptomatic increase in lipase levels.
- The case suggests a possible interaction between dopaminergic antagonism and incretin receptor agonism that may affect weight response.
