Updated

Abstract

Nineteen patients with major depressive disorder experienced significant changes in pain sensitivity after sleep deprivation.

  • Both treatment groups showed notable improvements in mood over the 3-week period.

  • Pain complaints significantly increased the morning after sleep deprivation.
  • No changes were observed in somatosensory thresholds following sleep deprivation.
