Abstract

Mean COMPASS-31 scores decreased from 33.71 to 13.78 following taVNS treatment.

  • Transcutaneous auricular vagus nerve stimulation (taVNS) is associated with significant improvement in autonomic symptoms in long COVID patients.
  • Post-traumatic stress symptoms were significantly reduced, with PCL-5 scores decreasing from 25.76 to 19.47.
  • Cognitive performance showed improvement, with COGBAT scores increasing from 37.71 to 49.41.
  • The study included 17 patients undergoing weekly taVNS sessions for eight weeks.
  • No adverse events were reported, suggesting that taVNS may be a safe intervention for this patient population.
