Yiqi Huayu Jiedu formula may reduce cell changes linked to chronic stomach lining inflammation by affecting the JAK2/STAT3 pathway

Updated

Abstract

Mass spectrometry identified 80 active compounds in the Yiqi-Huayu-Jiedu (YQHYJD) formula for treating chronic atrophic gastritis (CAG).

  • The YQHYJD formula may exert therapeutic effects on CAG through various mechanisms, including modulation of the JAK/STAT signaling pathway.
  • In rat and cellular models of CAG, activation of the JAK2/STAT3 pathway was observed alongside partial epithelial-mesenchymal transition (pEMT).
  • YQHYJD treatment effectively reduced the activation of JAK2/STAT3 and pEMT in these models.
  • The therapeutic effects of YQHYJD were maintained even with the presence of Colivelin or overexpression of STAT3.
  • Inhibiting JAK2/STAT3-mediated pEMT could suppress the progression from gastric inflammation to cancer.
