Abstract

The detection rate of depressive symptoms among 628 children and adolescents was 26.4%.

  • Higher exposure to bedroom light-at-night during 21:00-24:00 is associated with an increased prevalence of depressive symptoms.
  • In particular, girls and students on school days showed stronger associations between light exposure and depressive symptoms.
  • The median intensity of bedroom light-at-night was 5.1 lux, with higher levels recorded on school days compared to weekends.
  • No significant association between bedroom light exposure and depressive symptoms was found in boys or on weekends.
