The QSHP membrane treatment resulted in the highest newly formed bone volume in aged rat mandibular defects.
- Aging disrupts stem cell recruitment and increases cellular senescence, impairing bone regeneration.
- The engineered QSHP membrane features a dual-layer design for enhanced stem cell migration and proliferation.
- In vitro tests showed that the membrane mitigates H2O2-induced senescence and restores osteogenic capacity.
- Histological analyses indicated accelerated early bone formation and increased recruitment of CD44+ stem cells.
- The QSHP membrane may rejuvenate the senescence-impaired bone regenerative environment, facilitating functional regeneration.
