Carbohydrate-electrolyte ingestion resulted in 37% longer run time to fatigue during high-intensity exercise.

  • Ingestion of carbohydrate-electrolyte drinks led to improved performance in a shuttle run to fatigue.
  • Participants showed faster 20-meter sprint times in the final quarter of the exercise after consuming carbohydrates.
  • Improved motor skill test performance was observed in the later stages of exercise with carbohydrate intake.
  • Self-reported fatigue levels were lower in the carbohydrate group compared to the placebo group.
