Abstract
Common voles exhibit peaks in arginine-vasopressin (AVP) release 20 hours apart in 4 out of 6 samples.
- Organotypic cultures of neonatal common voles did not show circadian modulation in vasoactive intestinal polypeptide (VIP) release.
- The release patterns of AVP were inconsistent compared to the stable patterns observed in rats.
- The findings indicate that VIP and AVP may function independently in the circadian pacemaker mechanisms of common voles.
- These observations highlight the variability of circadian activity patterns between voles and rats.
