An increase of 14.87 nW/cm/sr in outdoor artificial light at night during pregnancy is associated with 1.30 higher abdominal circumference percentiles.

  • Higher outdoor artificial light exposure during pregnancy may result in 13% increased odds of macrosomia.
  • In female fetuses, an increase of 14.87 nW/cm/sr in outdoor artificial light is associated with 1.65 higher abdominal circumference percentiles.
  • The odds of macrosomia in female fetuses could be 27% higher with increased outdoor artificial light exposure.
  • These findings suggest a potential link between outdoor artificial light exposure during pregnancy and fetal growth outcomes.
