Abstract
Contrast-induced acute kidney injury (CI-AKI) occurs frequently in patients undergoing coronary procedures, especially those with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM).
- CI-AKI is a common complication associated with coronary angiography and percutaneous coronary intervention.
- Patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) are particularly vulnerable to CI-AKI.
- Glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor agonists (GLP-1 RAs) are suggested to have potential renoprotective effects.
- Current evidence regarding the effects of GLP-1 RAs in contrast exposure is limited.
