Abstract
Obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) is highly prevalent in type 2 diabetes (T2D).
- OSA shares metabolic risk factors with T2D, particularly obesity.
- Increased cardiovascular outcomes are associated with both OSA and T2D.
- Glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor agonists (GLP-1RAs) may reduce OSA severity based on clinical trials.
- The potential of GLP-1RAs to prevent new cases of OSA in T2D is still unclear.
