Dulaglutide's effects on kidney health in diabetic mice

Updated

Abstract

Dulaglutide treatment significantly reduced mRNA expression of ferroptosis-related markers in kidney tissues of db/db mice.

  • Dulaglutide improved renal function and lessened kidney damage in db/db mice.
  • There was a decrease in 4-HNE levels and downregulation of ACSL4 protein in renal tissues following treatment.
  • Dulaglutide upregulated GPX4 protein expression, which may mitigate mitochondrial damage in renal tubular cells.
  • The treatment also alleviated kidney inflammation and fibrosis, associated with decreased P-STAT3 and P-ERK signaling.
