Abstract
Essence
A GLP-1 receptor agonist was associated with weight loss, lower triglycerides, and no recurrent pancreatitis in one patient with recurrent hypertriglyceridemia-induced pancreatitis.
Evidence
This single case report describes a 42-year-old woman with recurrent HTG-induced acute pancreatitis who achieved 15% weight loss, sustained triglyceride reduction, and remained AP-free while on GLP-1RA therapy.
Caveat
The evidence is limited to one patient, so it cannot resolve broader safety concerns about GLP-1RAs in people with prior pancreatitis.
