Updated

Abstract

The least-squares mean change in body weight is -17.8% for GZR18 administered weekly compared to 0.7% for placebo.

  • GZR18 is a glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor agonist being tested for overweight and obesity.
  • Sixty participants were enrolled in a randomized, placebo-controlled trial, with 46 completing it.
  • In Part A, GZR18 resulted in a -9.36% weight change versus -6.68% for placebo.
  • In Part B, GZR18 demonstrated weight changes of -17.8% for weekly dosing and -12.8% for bi-weekly dosing, compared to 0.7% for placebo.
  • GZR18 also improves other weight-related and metabolic measures.
  • The treatment is generally safe with mild-to-moderate gastrointestinal side effects reported.
