Internet gaming disorder in Lebanon linked to age, sleep patterns, and school performance

The pooled prevalence of (IGD) among Lebanese high-school students is 9.2%.

  • IGD is associated with being younger and sleeping fewer hours.
  • Students with IGD reported an average of 5 hours of sleep per night, compared to 7 hours for casual gamers.
  • Those with IGD had the lowest school grade average, falling below the passing grade.
  • Poor academic achievement may be linked to increased IGD among adolescents.
