Abstract
Glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor agonists (GLP-1 RA) are increasingly used for obesity management.
- There is a lack of comparative studies on the effectiveness of GLP-1 RA versus metabolic and bariatric surgery (MBS).
- Current evidence does not address the cost-effectiveness of GLP-1 RA in relation to MBS.
- The rising use of GLP-1 RA suggests a need for further investigation into their long-term outcomes.
