Metabolic syndrome linked to sleep and daily activity patterns in people with bipolar disorder during remission
Updated
Abstract
Lower sleep efficiency is associated with higher triglyceride levels in patients with bipolar disorder.
- Correlations exist between lower sleep efficiency and higher triglyceride levels (P = 0.002).
- Lower M10 onset is linked to higher systolic blood pressure (P = 0.03).
- Higher fragmentation index correlates with higher systolic blood pressure (P = 0.009).
- Lower sleep efficiency and higher fragmentation index are associated with higher atherogenic index of plasma (P = 0.02 and P = 0.04, respectively).
- Most correlations remained significant after adjusting for potential confounding factors.
