Abstract
Thirty adults with Internet gaming disorder showed significant improvements after 8 weeks of Mindfulness-Oriented Recovery Enhancement.
- Participants in the Mindfulness-Oriented Recovery Enhancement (MORE) group experienced greater reductions in the number of IGD criteria met compared to the support group.
- Craving for video gaming decreased significantly more in the MORE group than in the control group.
- Maladaptive thoughts related to gaming were reduced more in the MORE group compared to the support group.
- Therapeutic benefits from MORE were maintained at a 3-month follow-up.
