The transcript Pm-OST1, measuring 5151 bp and containing a coding region of 5031 bp, is only expressed in the ovaries of the giant tiger shrimp, Penaeus monodon.

  • Pm-OST1 corresponds to 1677 amino acids and is specifically expressed in the ovaries of both juvenile (N = 10) and broodstock (N = 22) shrimp.
  • Injection of 5-HT resulted in significantly higher expression levels of Pm-OST1 in the ovaries at 12-72 hours post-injection (P<0.05).
