Sleep movement disorder in Parkinson’s disease based on questionnaire survey

Updated

Abstract

42.6% of Parkinson's disease patients report a history of REM sleep behavior disorder (RBD).

  • A total of 417 Parkinson's disease patients participated in the study.
  • RBD was identified in 172 patients, who exhibited longer disease duration and lower daily living activity scores.
  • Patients with RBD experienced more frequent nighttime awakenings and hallucinations compared to those without RBD.
  • No significant differences were found in age, gender, or other sleep-wake disorders between the two groups.
  • Patients with RBD were more likely to be treated with antidepressants.
