Effects of Semaglutide Use During Pregnancy Based on FAERS Data

Abstract

A total of 249 cases involving semaglutide use during pregnancy were identified, comprising 922 adverse events.

  • Abortion- and pregnancy loss-related events accounted for 27.3% of reported adverse events.
  • Semaglutide showed higher reporting odds for pregnancy-related conditions compared to other medications.
  • Increased reporting odds were observed for procedural complications and gastrointestinal disorders associated with semaglutide.
  • No significant association was found for congenital anomalies or reproductive system disorders.
  • Increased odds for termination of pregnancy and risk of abortion were noted in the analysis.
