Changes in sleep patterns, sleep quality, mood, and life quality during lung cancer treatment

Updated

Abstract

Patients with lung cancer showed significant improvement in sleep-wake rhythms by week 48 of treatment.

  • Baseline sleep-wake rhythms were poor in patients prior to treatment.
  • Anxiety levels significantly improved at weeks 6, 12, 24, and 48 post-treatment.
  • Fatigue levels worsened at weeks 8 and 48 during the treatment period.
  • Quality of life (QoL) improved significantly from week 6 until treatment completion.
  • Poor sleep quality and depressive symptoms negatively impacted QoL, while regular sleep-wake rhythms positively influenced it.
