Vitreous bleeding in a patient taking tirzepatide: coincidence or caused by the drug?

Updated

Abstract

Essence

A nondiabetic woman taking for weight loss developed unilateral that resolved spontaneously over four months.

Evidence

This single case report describes a 55-year-old female with sudden right-eye visual loss, fundus-confirmed vitreous hemorrhage, and recovery of uncorrected visual acuity to 1.0.

Caveat

The report cannot determine whether tirzepatide caused the hemorrhage, especially with prior ocular history and spontaneous resolution.
