CardioMetAge predicts heart and metabolism aging and related diseases

Updated

Abstract

Essence

CardioMetAge estimates cardiometabolic aging from routine clinical measures and outperformed general aging clocks in predicting CMD outcomes.

Evidence

This model development and validation study built CardioMetAge from chronological age and 12 common biomarkers in NHANES-III, then evaluated outcomes in continuous NHANES, UK Biobank, and a two-year caloric restriction intervention.

Caveat

The outcome links are largely observational or predictive, so the abstract does not show that using the clock improves care or that lowering the score prevents disease.
