Abstract

A protocol is presented to evaluate fasting metabolism and its relationship to the core circadian clock in mice.

  • The study focuses on the expression of hepatocyte genes during a 24-hour circadian cycle.
  • Fasting and feeding experiments are conducted to assess metabolic changes over time.
  • Procedures for analyzing oxidative substrate selection are included.
  • Injections of FGF21 and CPI-613 may help to rescue defective oxidative metabolism.
