Use of GLP-1 Medicines and Blood Pressure in Nondiabetic Obese Adults

Abstract

GLP-1 receptor agonist users had 107.2 mmHg systolic blood pressure compared to 122.1 mmHg for nonusers.

  • Lower diastolic blood pressure was also observed in GLP-1 users at 74.4 mmHg, compared to 76.9 mmHg in nonusers.
  • The proportion of hypertension was significantly lower among GLP-1 users at 14.1%, versus 36.5% in nonusers.
  • Only 2 participants were identified as GLP-1 receptor agonist users, limiting the ability to conduct further statistical analysis.
  • The findings are descriptive and do not imply a causal relationship between GLP-1 receptor agonist use and blood pressure levels.
