Using incretin-based treatments as part of complete obesity care

Updated

Abstract

Incretin-based therapies have resulted in substantial weight loss and improved cardiometabolic outcomes.

  • The EASO Integration Paradox highlights a gap between rapid therapeutic innovation and the capacity of European healthcare systems to implement these therapies effectively.
  • The proposed EASO Integration Framework consists of five key components: Right Patient, Right Care, Right Workforce, Right Data, and Right Access.
  • There is a call for a coordinated European research and implementation agenda focusing on real-world evidence and equitable access.
  • Challenges now center on the responsible implementation of incretin-based therapies within comprehensive obesity care pathways.
