The group with the highest level of light at night exposure is associated with an increased risk of overweight/obesity, hypertension, and diabetes.
- The pooled odds ratio for overweight/obesity with high light at night exposure is 1.19.
- High light at night exposure is associated with a pooled odds ratio of 1.86 for hypertension.
- An increased risk of diabetes is associated with high light at night exposure, with a pooled odds ratio of 1.21.
- Eighteen observational studies were included in the meta-analysis conducted up to August 1, 2023.
